Evelina and Joshua were emotional and believable characters that had to work to overcome difficulties before they reach their happiness. I did not like having the ending in the extended epilogue. I liked the twist in this story that it was a mail ordered husband and that he was the faithful one trusting God and he helped his wife to come to faith in God. I enjoyed the use of scripture through out the story. It helped to add a Godly influence to this book and was able to give the reader encouragement too. I highly recommend this book. Joshua was wondering how he could pay for his father's debt after he died and there was terrible flooding.
